Early Childhood Center Principal's Message

Mrs. Dowler

Dear ECC Families,

Welcome back to the 2023-2024 school year! I am proud to serve as your ECC principal and look forward to our continued partnership in providing our littlest Knights with the best preschool and kindergarten experience. We offer two age-appropriate classes for our preschool students. The 3-year-old class attends on Mondays and Wednesdays and our 4-year-old class attends on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Our preschool students attend from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on their scheduled day. Our kindergarten students attend full-day, every day from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You can view the school calendars here: 23-24 Preschool Calendar and 23-24 Kindergarten Calendar.

The Crestview ECC is a special place for our young Knights to learn and grow! Our theme for this year is “W. I. L. D. About Learning!” This year’s theme stands for: W- Work Together, I- InspireOthers, L- Lend a Helping Hand, and D- Develop Friendships. This year we will work together to provide a safe, nurturing, and conducive learning environment for all our students. Working together to build relationships with our students and families is an integral part of our school culture. We encourage these partnerships to grow and flourish as we offer many family engagement activities during the year for families to become invested in their child’s education. Families can also be involved in their child’s educational journey by checking their child’s folder/bookbag daily, participating in school activities, joining the Crestview ECC Parents’ Club (CPC), and volunteering in their child’s classroom.

We will inspire our students to explore, create, play, collaborate, take risks, and become problem-solvers. Encouraging students to experience these different learning modalities helps to mold and shape their minds. A child who has developed a genuine interest in learning will be motivated to acquire new skills and knowledge in areas they are passionate about and will be enthusiastic about exploring new topics. This mindset helps to foster a love of learning! Our staff will teach and encourage our students to lend a helping hand whether it be to a new friend, a friend in need, or an adult. Teaching our students to be kind and caring to everyone is an essential life skill. top priority at the ECC. Being kind to others is a top priority at the ECC and will help create a culture of caring and respect. Lastly, we will help students foster and develop friendships with others that will last a lifetime. As we help our students develop appropriate social skills with others and model appropriate expectations, students also learn about making positive choices. This mindset encompasses our school-wide PBIS expectations of Be Responsible, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. All of these experiences help students have the necessary tools to help them become lifelong learners.

I look forward to getting to know our new students and families this school year. If your family is new to the Crestview ECC, I extend a warm welcome from our ECC family and look forward to meeting you. I aim to connect and foster meaningful relationships with our students, families, and community. My door is always open and I welcome you to stop in anytime. I look forward to a great school year where we are W.I.L.D. About Learning!
